Our Girls:

2008 - Miss Ella:

Miss Ella is our 2008 Robot that plays the "FIRST Overdrive" game. Her name is Miss Ella because her tusks that efficiently obtain the ball can remind people of an Elephant. Don’t be fooled! She is as elegant and classy as Ella Fitzgerald. Miss Ella consists of custom 1/2" aluminum tubing, unlike most of our previous robots! Much like her sisters, she is robust like a tank and no one, we mean no one, will stop her in her tracks! She has the ability to accurately capture the ball with her pneumatic/motorized arm, as well as hurdle, place and eject the ball!

2007 - Bridgit:

Bridgit is our 2007 robot that plays the game "Rack N' Roll". Her name is Bridgit because her ramp and platform look reminds of a bridge. Bridgit is spelled thiss way so that it will be easier for people outside of our team to understand it. Bridgit was the first robot at the New Jersey Regional to successfully double ramp in a qualifying match. It was successful for a double 12-inch lift. Compared to many robots that we have seen at competitions, Bridgit is only a double ramp robot that is simply designed. We use gravity to our advantage, which also saves weight. She is a class one robot, weighing 120 lbs. One fast fact about Bridgit: She probably has the most welds on any robot at any competition, totaling over 3 lbs. of welding wire.

2006 - Annie:

Annie is our 2006 robot that played the game "Aim High". Her name is Annie, named after the famous sharpshooter Annie Oakley, the rest is obvious! Annie consists of pure hand-crafted 3/4" aluminum tubing, like much of our previous robots. She is robust like a tank and can take a blow from any direction without a flinch! With her large hoppers, she has the ability to hold up to ten balls, which are accurately shot by her 2-wheeled shooting mechanism! Annie is truly a fine machine that is prospered and greatly appreciated by team 522 for all that she has given us!

2005 - Cleo:

Cleo was named after the Egyptian princess Cleopatra. The reason why she was named after an Egyptian princess was because of the way we designed her support beams of her arm. It looked like a pyramid which reminded us of Egypt. Also all of our robots have feminine names. Cleo for short can play excellent defense and can cap one or even two tetras at a time from the human player. She can also knock down the vision tetra in autonomous mode.

2004 - Libby:

Libby's shape and size along with her statuesque arm, we named her Libby short for our Statue of Liberty, which you can see from our school. We saw that it fit her. Libby was 110% with hanging from the bar and has one great autonomous mode. Libby also could grab one goal and cap the 2x ball. She also brought us a regional championship in New York, Two years in a row.... Something to be happy about.

2003 - Gloria:

Gloria was a champion from the beginning in our minds. Gloria was named due to her being so glorious. She had a very effective autonomous mode and blocked many robots from becoming the king of the hill. She also won us a regional championship in New York.

2002 - Dorothy:

This robot is specifically designed to compliment and facilitate 1 point ball handling robots, as well as 10 point goal robots. We are 100% successful with grabbing one goal, blocking robots, defending goals, pushing two goals with one robot attached, pushing robots without goals, pulling one goal with one robot attached, and pulling two goals with one robot attached. We are able to grab 2 goals at any time. 40+ matches, 0 mechanical failures. We can coordinate any team for maximum scoring and fallback plans.

2001 - Wilma:
