Who Are We?
We are the original and famous Robo Wizards and our team number is 522. We reign from Ralph R. McKee Vocational and Technical High School, in Staten Island, NY. As you can see, we have achieved many awards during the few years thata we have been participating in the FIRST Robotics Competitions. We are a small team and we have a tendancy of causing great damage; strategically speaking. We also help during the competitions by assisting fellow teams in such ways: lending tools from our toolbox, helping with repairs and builds, strategizing, and much more. You can't miss us with our vibrant purple shirts, wizard regalia, loud chanting, our mascots: the wizards, and most importantly, our teamwork and Gracious Professionalism!
Rookie Seminar
On November 6th 2007, we held our annual Rookie Workshop. It was a great turnout, the teams and schools in attendance were: Union Settlement School[5159], Curtis High School [371], Bayard Rustin High School, Saunders High School [2344], Brooklyn Amity School and FDA [1660] As a part of our workshop, we instructed the rookie schools and teams about the importance of FIRST and what its all about. We described all of the essential elements in getting started and becoming a quality FIRST Robotics Team. We made it clear to all who attended, that the robot aspect of the team is the least important in part of being a FIRST Team. At the conclusion of the workshop, we reiterated the importance of team organization, teamwork, and gracious profesionalism!
